Volvo Car Corporation will reveal the all-new Volvo V40 at a press conference at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show on March 6.
The all-new V40 is ready to overtake the competition in the Premium Hatchback class with sharpened features and characteristics from larger Volvos wrapped in a sleek, compact package.

Class-leading driving dynamics
The all-new V40 boasts class-leading driving dynamics thanks to focused attention to a number of vital areas. The chassis is designed to offer the agile, connected experience that creates true driving pleasure.

The engine range spans everything from Volvo Car Corporation’s first diesel with CO2 emissions of just 94 g/km to the turbocharged T5 petrol engine with 254 hp and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. All engine versions feature start-stop and braking energy regeneration, no matter whether they are fitted with a manual or automatic gearbox.

“The all-new V40 wraps you in a super-comfortable cockpit with outstanding ergonomics and technology that make you feel informed, focused and relaxed. This driver-centric approach is what modern Volvos are all about,” says Stefan Jacoby.

Outstanding safety and support package
The all-new Volvo V40 features a class-leading safety and driver support package, including Volvo Car Corporation’s groundbreaking Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake and several other new features.

Among the new features are a world-first pedestrian airbag, Lane Keeping Aid with haptic auto steering, and an ingenious Park Assist Pilot that makes parallel parking easy.

The City Safety low-speed collision avoidance system has been further developed and it now operates at speeds up to 50 km/h.

The Volvo S80 and V70 also come in refined special versions that are tailor made for buyers who want a car with that extra exclusive look and individual touch:

Volvo S80 Executive

Volvo S80 Executive features unique details and a very rich content that reinforce its position as Volvo Car Corporation’s top-of-the-line sedan.

The Volvo S80 is the most exclusive Volvo sedan model – and the Executive version features details that emphasize the sober Scandinavian design and the sophisticated comfort of the spacious sedan.

The Executive badge gives a discreet hint that this is an S80 beyond the norm. Inside, the upgraded S80 Executive is the first Volvo model with an instrument panel top in leather, available in espresso brown or off black. Among the interior details that give the S80 Executive a more exclusive character are ventilated soft leather seats with massage function, leather door panels, an integrated analogue clock on the instrument panel and the aluminium centre consol storage.

Specially designed, extra thick carpets reinforce the sober impression. The opportunity to install a fridge in the rear seat, combined with a set of Swedish crystal glasses, also contributes to the enhanced feeling of luxury and comfort.

Volvo V70 R-Design

The V70 R-Design comes with a number of specially developed exterior and interior design details.

The exterior has unique design details in the front, LED turning indicators integrated into door mirrors with silk metal covers and a unique, diamond cut 18-inch wheel called “Ixion”.

On the inside, there are leather upholstery trimmed in off black, leather around the gear selector, and black floor-mats with contrasting stitching.

V70 R-Design is available together with all drivelines, which also makes it possible to choose the 1.6-litre DRIVe diesel with CO2 emissions at 119g/km.

Volvo Sensus – ergonomic high-tech

Both the S80 Executive and the V70 R-Design feature the latest Volvo Sensus infotainment system. In Volvo Sensus, all information is presented on a five-inch or seven-inch colour screen in the upper part of the centre stack. The screen is positioned high up to make it easy for the driver to keep his or her eyes on the road.

The pronounced wedge shape and the slim coupe-like roof line of the new V60 are accompanied by the shoulder profile along the car’s sides, creating a gentle yet powerful double wave from the headlamps at the front to the tail lamps at the rear.

The sporty interior of the new V60 is also the most advanced high-tech environment ever available to a Volvo driver.

Groundbreaking technology such as the optional Pedestrian Detection with full auto brake takes Volvo’s safety dedication yet another step towards the vision of building cars that do not get involved in accidents.

In the field of comfort, there are features such as the optional Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), which automatically maintains a set gap to the vehicle in front. What is new is that the Adaptive Cruise Control operates at speeds below 30 km/h, all the way down to standstill in a car with automatic transmission.

The new V60 can naturally be equipped with parking sensors front and rear and a Park Assist camera at the rear. A camera in the front grille with a 180° field of vision is a new Volvo feature that is available as an accessory.

The camera is a great asset when maneuvering in crossings with limited view or when driving out from a tight and narrow exit such as a parking garage. The image from the camera is displayed on the 7-inch screen in the center stack.

The only 40/20/40-split rear seat in the segment, an easy to load luggage compartment and two built-in child booster cushions – the new Volvo V60 is the perfect choice for buyers who want extra flexibility on top of sporty design and an exciting drive.
